Allgemeines
Wir freuen uns sehr über alle Anfragen für ein Praktikum bei Chance for Children.
Es ist uns sehr wichtig, dass wir Menschen aus andern Ländern als Ghana tiefen Einblick in diese afrikanische Kultur ermöglichen können; tiefen Einblick in eine sehr herzliche, fröhliche Kultur, aber auch eine Kultur mit vielen Problemen, im besonderen für diejenigen Menschen, die an der Existenzgrenze um ihr tägliches Brot kämpfen. Wir freuen uns, dass Menschen die Kinder Accras kennen lernen und sich für sie einsetzen wollen.
Es ist uns ebenfalls wichtig, dass wir diesen interessierten Menschen eine gute Betreuung anbieten können. Diese soll ermöglichen, sich schnell wohl und aufgehoben zu fühlen und sich mit diesem Hintergrund auf die ghanaische Kultur einlassen zu können.

Sie ist erste Kontaktperson für PraktikantInnnen. Alle Unterlagen sind in englisch, weil gute Englischkenntnisse bei uns unerlässlich sind.
Our conditions of service for volunteers
- volunteers must be at least 25 years of age
- profound knowledge of English (incl. grammar and tenses, spoken and
written) on level of „First Certificate of Cambridge“, please present your
certificate or be ready for a short writing test during the interview
- confirmed and declared experience in work with groups of children / teenagers
and / or graduated pedagogical or socialwork studies
- minimum term of contract 6 months, included 1-2 weeks of vacation, possibility
for both sides to end collaboration after first month
- internship is on a voluntary basis, there is no payment for work nor flight
- volunteers take care of their own concerning visa, precaution, health- /
accident-insurance, vaccinations etc.
CFC is expecting from you:
- to be capable of travelling alone
- to be able to avoid alcohol or smoking in the presence of the children (sometimes 24h!)
- to be ready to live in simple conditions concerning accommodation and food
- to be open and flexible
towards the different cultural habits and values
- to be ready and open to get in touch with people in a respectful way
- to be capable to cope in unknown and new situations
- to be cooperative within the CFC-Team
and to accept, that you have to adapt
your European knowledge to Ghanaian realities and morals with their help
- to be able to exchange ideas, feelings, experiences and to work out one’s own solutions how to handle specific situations
- to be respectful towards local authorities
- professional discretion
- absolutely no private relations with the children/ young adults from the project
