CFC House in La - 1998 to 2008

The facility in La was the foundation from where the Chance for Children project originated. For ten years it has been a platform, where young and old, girls and boys, CFC children and neighbours could meet and interact.

Additionally this house in La has been an important contact point for the children on the streets. After meeting the children on the streets and having initiated a first contact, the CFC social workers have invited these children to a meeting in La. This was where the children got their second and vital impression of CFC and where the actual decision was made whether a child can be invited to join CFC in the end. That is why most CFC children have at least spent some time at the La facility before 2008.

Today all these tasks are taken on at the newly opened Drop-In Centre and the office, which was established in 2007.

Children at the CFC house in La

For many years a Ghanaian family has been living inside the house in La together with their own children and the former CFC street children. In December 2008 the facility was returned to the family.

Many youths, who are integrated into the CFC project and who live elsewhere with their families and friends, have met at the house in La again and again for meetings, to mingle, to exchange jobs and to work on their homework. At the moment only one girl is staying at the house in La. With the help of CFC she goes to school.
