When and what Personal Information CFC collect

You may decide to send us your personal information via this website if you are subscribing to our newsletter, seeking more information, donating, interacting, or engaging us on social media. Your decision to disclose your personal data such as name, email address, phone number etc is entirely voluntary, and by doing so, you are taking an affirmative action by providing us with specific consent to use your personal data only for the purposes for which you have disclosed it to us.

Chance for Children may access and use your personal data you shared only for the purposes for which you have submitted to us as required by the Data Protection ACT, 2012 (ACT 843).

How do we use your information?

We may use the information collected for the purpose for which you shared with us and to also

  • To send thank you letters for your donations
  • Provide information to you
  • Contact you or for follow ups
  • Provide services to you

We will not use your personal information for any other purposes, for example for the communication of marketing materials, unless we have your specific consent that permits us to do so.

How do we protect your information?

The CFC considers all matters pertaining to the Security of its data, systems and services to be of the highest priority, particularly the security of personal & confidential data belonging to individuals and third parties who have entrusted CFC with their information.

CFC is actively engaged in ensuring the Confidentiality, Integrity of data we have collected.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit card information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

Data Retention and Deletion (How long do we keep your data and when do we securely delete it)

CFC will only keep personal data for as long as is required and only for the purpose it was collected. Once that period has expired, or for example you have requested to be removed from our contact databases, we will ensure all your information is deleted as there will be no legal or contractual reason to retain it any longer.

What rights do I have?

You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data; to correct, delete or stop any processing of your personal data; and to obtain the personal data you provide to us for a contract or with your consent in a structured, machine readable format. Use of Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to analyze website usage. The data obtained from this is used to optimize our website and advertising measures. Google Analytics is a web analytics service operated and provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States). Google processes the data for website use on our behalf and is contractually obliged to take measures to ensure the confidentiality of the processed data.

During your visit to the website, following data recorded:

  • Pages called
  • Orders including sales and ordered products
  • The achievement of “website goals” (e.g. contact requests and newsletter subscriptions)
  • Your behavior on the pages (e.g. clicks, scroll behavior and length of stay)
  • Your approximate location (country and city)
  • Your IP address (in abbreviated form so that no clear assignment is possible)
  • Technical information such as browser, internet provider, end device and screen resolution
  • Source of origin of your visit (i.e. via which website or via which advertising material you came to us)

 This data is transferred to a Google server in the USA. Google observes the data protection provisions of the “EU-US Privacy Shield” agreement.

Google Analytics stores cookies in your web browser for a period of two years since your last visit. These cookies contain a randomly generated user ID with which you can be recognized on future website visits.

The recorded data is saved together with the randomly generated user ID, which enables the evaluation of pseudonymous user profiles. This user-related data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Other data remains stored indefinitely in aggregate form.

If you do not agree with the collection, you can prevent this by installing the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.

Donation Technology

 We make use of donation technology engineered by RaiseNow AG, Hardturmstrasse 101, 8005 Zürich, whose privacy policy can be viewed here: https://www.raisenow.com/ch-en/datenschutz 

 On the basis of our interests and donation processing, personal and payment-related data as well as communication preferences are captured by RaiseNow, in accordance with GDPR art. 6 par. 1 lit. b and a processing contract we have with them, as per art. 28 par. 3 line 1. RaiseNow AG based in Switzerland and RaiseNow GmbH based in Germany both comply with all requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation. Switzerland is considered a safe country to which the European Commission has affirmed an appropriate level of data protection by means of a decision on conformity. This includes, for example, the security of data processing, which is regularly checked and certified by TÜV SÜD at RaiseNow AG on the basis of the PCI-DSS SAQ D Level 2 security standard (https://developer.raisenow.com/docs/pci-dss/Certificate-of-Validation_en.pdf).

 RaiseNow may use any collected data in anonymous form, that is without assignment to a donor, to optimize or improve its own services, but may not contact donors directly or pass this data on to third parties.
